MALA LECHE DESIGN

Elisabeth Baeza uses common and raw materials such as MDF, OSB, foam, aluminum, paper in a minimalist vision of object.

Bio

She declines them into clean geometric shapes and graphics handmade, laser cut or 3D printed. Its manufacturing circuits are short, (France, Belgium) handcraft. Her practice borrows from traditional techniques, new technology and mixed techniques and her artistic approach leads us to a different perception : what might be useful at first glance remains ultimately a work in its own right. Elisabeth creates a proximity between matter and artistic practice in a current context. Re manufactured, re assembled, re cuted, re figured are the artifices of her production. The approach is her creative lever and provokes the principles of her pieces. She brings us back to the borders between art and design.

Elisabeth Baeza was born in 1977 in Clermont-Ferrand (France). From 1998 to 2003, she was trained at the school of Fine Arts of Saint-Etienne (ESADSE) and will graduate from the design section. Installed in Paris for several years, she joined the MG Stand design office, which familiarized her with ephemeral manufacturing techniques and collaborated on various artistic projects of carpentry and ironwork until 2008. It is in Brussels that she created mala leche Design, her label since 2014.
