RE-VOLT

“We treasure cycles more than lines. Poetry more than prose. Authenticity more than pose.”

Bio

Where we come from? Our roots lay at Modular, the near-infamous lighting company that has been defining the trends and language in the lighting industry since the 1980’s. Bernard Rommens, son of Modular-founder Paul and ex-creative director at the company has been responsible for the characteristically edgy designs and campaigns at Modular. In 1998 he can no longer deny the entrepreneurial genes his father passed on to him and goes off to found Rotor: his own agency (“because someone had to keep developing those Modular catalogs…”) Since then, Rotor has designed campaigns, booths, websites and interiors for a portfolio of well-known clients among whom BMW, Nespresso, Novy, Dierendonck and – of course – Modular.

Re-volt aims at weaving its pieces maximally into its clients stories: sustainability is not just a matter of design, but also of the extent to which the product blends in with the lives of its customers. That’s why we develop highly customizable lighting.

But it is not just design and quality that distinguishes Re-volt from the status quo. A near-poetic mission statement permeates the Re-volt team, its products, its way, its communication and customer-service. All of which suggesting style, depth and the characteristic edginess mentioned earlier.

LIGHT MACHINE

The Light Machine is inspired by a mix of film set lights, army jerrycans and mechanical machine details.
The dimmer can be adjusted to exactly the desired voltage displayed on the integrated volt meter.

Thanks to its wide adjustability in both orientation as well as light output the little machine can be used for many purposes: from indirect uplighter in a corner of your living room to additional shop window light or even that soft background lighting in your bedroom...
